Hyperfeminity. Empowerment.

Lace & Bows. But far from sweet.

We have seen a recent resurgence of hyper-femininity in fashion through aesthetics like ballet core and coquette; however, embracing femininity in fashion doesn’t necessarily mean we must start wearing pink, lace, and bows. The point of embracing femininity also goes hand in hand with the empowerment of women, which is often seen as a darker, more kick-ass style. I want to explore the connection of the soft, light, flowy femininity with the empowering, girl boss, hard-cut femininity. While these different aesthetics seem like they can’t be merged, cute and sexy, soft and sharp, light and dark. I challenged that idea and created something exhibiting femininity in all forms.
